Fitting Fascias and Soffits

The Fascia Division have produced 3 videos over the last 20 years showing how we fit UPVC fascia and soffits. There is more to it than meets the eye and we wanted potential customers to have an opportunity to see how we do it and what they can expect if they ask us to do the work.

There are number of different types of UPVC Fascias and Soffits. In our videos we have shown white UPVC fascia and white plain soffit, the other video shows an installation of Rosewood UPVC Fascia and Rosewood UPVC tongue and groove soffits.

An important consideration when choosing the right company to do the work is making sure that the rafter timbers underneath are in good condition and if not, then they are replaced and treated where necessary to avoid potential problems in the future.

The Fascia Division are specialist installers and we employ various methods to ensure that your new roofline not only looks great when it is done but equally importantly it is fitted correctly. Various additional components such as over fascia ventilation and eaves protection boards are fitted to provide solutions to other issues such as the requirement for ventilation and to address perished and sagging sarking felt.

Cosmetically there is often ‘a world of difference’ between UPVC Fascias and Soffits that have been fitted by a time served expert as opposed to a say ‘a carpenter’ with the ability to carry out the work. Symmetry of fixings, expert joinery, knowledge of product and availability and use of the right parts are key to a proper job and it shows in the finished job…

There are a number of significant hazards when installing fascia and soffits including access to the work area, health and safety as well as the potential of asbestos being present in the soffits. Not only do our installers have frequent asbestos awareness training but we also possess the more comprehensive UKATA training which covers the removal of category B asbestos containing products. When it comes to the more dangerous products such as AIB (category A), then we employ the service of a licenced Asbestos removal company to safely remove this type of product.

When installing Fascias and soffits we carefully remove all the waste for safe onward transport to an environment agency approved recycling site. The Fascia Division have a responsible waste control policy and we aim to recycle as much of the waste as possible. It should be noted however that our UPVC products are made from virgin products to maintain their grade A status and to ensure that they will not fade or discolour due to impurity content.
